Radical Indy at the March for Independence – Photos

Today upwards of 20,000 people joined the March & Rally for Independence in Edinburgh, double the number of last year’s event. Gathering on the Royal Mile from 11am, the march then made its way up to Calton Hill for a rally which lasted well into the afternoon. Behind the kilts and saltires there was a strong left-wing sentiment at the rally, with nearly ever speaker reiterating the need to break with Westminster cuts and privatisation, scrap Trident and maintain a welfare state which cares for everyone.

Radical Independence was out in force, collecting hundreds of signatures supporting postal workers in their battle against Royal Mail privatisation, and building this year’s Radical Independence Conference, which takes place in Glasgow on Saturday 23 November.
