‘Let Women Speak’ is a dangerous hate group.
Please take care to stay safe. In all interactions remember they are here to antagonise and spread hate. We are here to shut them down.
Safety Info
MAP

HIDE YOUR IDENTITY
- LWS will use video footage from today to identify, harass & dox you.
- PLEASE WEAR A MASK (available from the Wellbeing Group), which will also help protect yourself and others from airborne illnesses.
- WHEN YOU LEAVE, put away any indicators you were involved in the demo (flags, signs, etc).
- DO NOT UNMASK UNTIL YOU’RE AWAY — but do unmask as soon as it’s safe.
SAFETY IN NUMBERS
- There may be dangerous people looking to target folk on their own.
- STAY IN A GROUP: People you arrived with, or make new friends with other counter-demonstrators!
- DO NOT LEAVE ALONE. Volunteers will be happy to escort you home safe.
- SHARE INFO, NOT RUMOURS. Talk to others about what you see & hear, but avoid baseless speculation — it’s bad for morale & causes panic.
- IF THE DEMO MOVES, disperse and relocate in small groups. Do not march as a large crowd — it’s illegal.
- IT’S OKAY TO TAKE A BREAK. Breathe. If you feel upset, speak to a friend or a mental health first aider. We can all support each other.
DO NOT ENGAGE
- DO NOT SPEAK TO LWS PEOPLE. They will try to antagonise you, verbally and physically. Whatever you say will be filmed and edited to make you look bad.
- DO NOT RESPOND TO PROVOCATION. They will shove, grab & insult you, & scream obscenities in your face.
- DO NOT REACT. You will be filmed and made to look like the aggressor.
- IF YOU FEEL THREATENED, link arms with comrades or walk away.
DO NOT SPEAK…
- …TO POLICE. They are not your pals. At best, they’re neutral. Just assume they’re hostile underneath.
- …TO THE PRESS. Most outlets have a transphobic agenda and are keen to misrepresent anything you say. Press enquiries will be handled by Alice Cogswell & Emma Goldman.
- …TO LWS PEOPLE. You will never change their minds. Don’t give them content for their social media.
- …TO POLICE. No, really. It’s worth repeating. DO NOT TALK TO COPS.
AFTER THE DEMO
DO NOT LOWER YOUR GUARD.
- LWS will be in town all weekend. They may continue their aggressive tactics on a smaller scale. Previously, they’ve made trouble in LGBTQ+ bars after demonstrations.
- If you’re alone later, don’t sport obvious signs like the trans pride flag. Keep in touch & check in with friends to make sure everyone is safe.
